Invoice numbers
Statutory invoice numbers come from the cloud so the series stays gapless across counters. A bill settled offline prints as “Invoice no. pending · not a tax invoice” and receives its invoice number as soon as the counter syncs.
Offline POS
Internet outages happen at the worst times. RestoStay counters keep taking orders and settling bills, then sync every bill exactly once.
How it works
A quiet banner tells staff the counter is offline. Nobody has to switch modes.
Orders, KOTs to network printers on the same Wi-Fi, bills and payments carry on using the counter’s local copy of the menu and settings.
Everything done offline is stored in an encrypted database on the counter until it syncs.
The counter sends its backlog. The cloud accepts each event exactly once, so retries and replays never duplicate a bill.
Honest details
Statutory invoice numbers come from the cloud so the series stays gapless across counters. A bill settled offline prints as “Invoice no. pending · not a tax invoice” and receives its invoice number as soon as the counter syncs.
Counters carry a time-limited authorisation for the staff who can use them offline, so a removed staff member cannot keep billing on a disconnected counter indefinitely.
A captain phone that loses connection keeps its KOT and sends it once when it reconnects.
If a counter fails before syncing, its unsynced work can be exported and imported for manager review — nothing applies until it is approved.
Verified
In our pilot, a Mac counter billed with the internet off; the sale synced exactly once when the connection returned. Long offline shifts with over a thousand events and three counters billing at once are part of our automated release tests.
