Terminal activation

Installing is not the same as billing

RestoStay controls which devices can bill for your restaurant. That protects your invoice series, your cash and your data.

  1. Install and sign in

    Install the app and sign in with your own staff account. On its own, the app cannot bill.

  2. Activate the terminal

    An authorised manager activates the device for your restaurant and a specific outlet. It receives a Terminal ID that binds it to that outlet.

  3. Plan capacity is checked

    Billing counters are limited by your subscription. Captain (KOT-only) phones do not use a billing slot; management devices never get billing authority.

  4. Staff sign in every day

    The Terminal ID is not a login. Each shift, staff sign in with their own accounts, and every bill records who took it.

Questions

Installation and activation

Does installing RestoStay make my computer a billing counter?
No. A newly installed app can only sign in. To bill, the device must be activated as a terminal for your restaurant and outlet by an authorised manager, and your plan must have a free billing counter slot.
Is the Terminal ID my login?
No. The Terminal ID identifies the device. Staff always sign in with their own accounts, so every bill records who took it.
Can I use a phone or the web app for billing?
Captain phones send KOTs but do not bill. Web Management is for menus, staff and reports and never acts as a billing counter.
How do I know a download is genuine?
Only download RestoStay from restostay.in or the official Google Play and App Store listings. Desktop installers are signed, and each one lists its SHA-256 checksum on this page so you can verify the file.
What if I replace a counter computer?
A manager can revoke or replace a terminal. The old device loses billing access and the slot moves to the new one.
